Wordy Wednesday (“Lamplight”)

GUESS WHO FINISHED HER AP LIT PROJECT???!! THIS GIRL FINISHED HER AP LIT PROJECT!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAAAAAT!!!!!!!! πŸ˜€

Ahhumm. Anyway.

This week’s Wordy Wednesday is a poem I wrote back a couple weeks ago, around my birthday, called “Lamplight.” It’s kind of dark (no pun intended), so lo siento about that.

**********

Light blinking on and off

Candle in a storm

Electric lamp swinging back and forth

Back and forth, back and forth, back and forth

Right left, on off, can’t breathe in this

Darkness, rain, hurricane

Off

On

Cover your eyes

Look between your fingers

Blink, open, blink

On off

Please

Stay

On

**********

Also, in other news: The spring musical went really awesome last weekend — I got a ton of compliments, which just blew me away because I thought I sucked — and then that continues this weekend. πŸ™‚ Oh, and GUESS WHAT TODAY IS!! “Rep Your Favorite Artist Day” at school! Check out my Taylor Swift faces:

(You know you’re jealous of my mad impersonation skills.)

Manana es el cumpleanos de my madre! (Yeah, I have no idea why I’m saying everything in Spanglish today… In English, that is: “Tomorrow is my mom’s birthday!”) If you guys could leave her a “Happy Birthday!” comment below, it would be super awesome. πŸ™‚

    • Gracias, chica. πŸ™‚ I was so excited when I finished — it was like 2:00 AM, and I was bouncing off the walls, running around and showing it to everybody (my mom and brother were still up, too, working on other stuff) (please note that my brother’s “other stuff” was a video game).

    • You know, I posted this on Facebook too, this morning, and that was the main comment people had on it — one of my friends made me do the surprised face multiple times throughout the day because he thought it was so funny (and it really isn’t, but he wouldn’t stop bugging me until I did it each time, so my face is like permanently in a shocked expression, now πŸ˜› ).

Gracias, chica! And I’ll let mi madre know your birthday greeting! πŸ™‚

      • πŸ˜› But it IS!!! The first time I saw it I had a memory lapse and didn’t know you were impersonating Taylor Swift and I was thinking, “Wait…she looks a lot like Taylor Swift right now…HMMMMM…”
De nada! (or prego, as my italian friend prefers :P)
