Bonus Post: Blogiversary Giveaway!!!

Well, the day is finally here! IT’S MY ONE YEAR BLOGIVERSARY!!!!!

I’m a fabulous dancer, as you can tell. This is how I got all those parts in the school musicals growing up.

Now, for that super awesome giveaway I’ve been promising you! I have three books to raffle off, which means that there are going to be three winners. All three books are signed by the authors. All three books have really cool mythologies and plotlines. And all three books are totally amazing. Look: those are three wonderful things all three books have in common, and therefore three wonderful reasons you should enter this raffle.

Details and descriptions:

Of Poseidon by Anna Banks

Of Poseidon

Goodreads Description: Galen is the prince of the Syrena, sent to land to find a girl he’s heard can communicate with fish. Emma is on vacation at the beach. When she runs into Galen — literally, ouch! — both teens sense a connection. But it will take several encounters, including a deadly one with a shark, for Galen to be convinced of Emma’s gifts. Now, if he can only convince Emma that she holds the key to his kingdom . . .

Goddess Interrupted by Aimee Carter

Goddess Interrupted

Goodreads Description: Kate Winters has won immortality. But if she wants a life with Henry in the Underworld, she’ll have to fight for it.Becoming immortal wasn’t supposed to be the easy part. Though Kate is about to be crowned Queen of the Underworld, she’s as isolated as ever. And despite her growing love for Henry, ruler of the Underworld, he’s becoming ever more distant and secretive. Then, in the midst of Kate’s coronation, Henry is abducted by the only being powerful enough to kill him: the King of the Titans.

As the other gods prepare for a war that could end them all, it is up to Kate to save Henry from the depths of Tartarus. But in order to navigate the endless caverns of the Underworld, Kate must enlist the help of the one person who is the greatest threat to her future.

Henry’s first wife, Persephone.

The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater

The Raven Boys

Goodreads Description: Every year, Blue Sargent stands next to her clairvoyant mother as the soon-to-be dead walk past. Blue herself never sees them—not until this year, when a boy emerges from the dark and speaks directly to her.

His name is Gansey, and Blue soon discovers that he is a rich student at Aglionby, the local private school. Blue has a policy of staying away from Aglionby boys. Known as Raven Boys, they can only mean trouble.

But Blue is drawn to Gansey, in a way she can’t entirely explain. He has it all—family money, good looks, devoted friends—but he’s looking for much more than that. He is on a quest that has encompassed three other Raven Boys: Adam, the scholarship student who resents all the privilege around him; Ronan, the fierce soul who ranges from anger to despair; and Noah, the taciturn watcher of the four, who notices many things but says very little.

For as long as she can remember, Blue has been warned that she will cause her true love to die. She never thought this would be a problem. But now, as her life becomes caught up in the strange and sinister world of the Raven Boys, she’s not so sure anymore.

Happy blogiversary to you, fantastic reader, and thank you so much for making this past year such a special one! Writing this blog has been a barrel of fun, and I really appreciate your support, whether this is the first post you’re reading or your one hundred and sixteenth. Although the blog’s called Julia the Writer Girl, it’s really all about you and trying to find ways to make you laugh or smile or think or learn or a thousand and one other things–I’m here, still blogging after an entire long year, because you have been reading and motivating me. It’s all because of you. So thank you.

Now go enjoy some cookies in celebration! (And if you can’t chew for some reason, like Sammy who just got a tooth pulled yesterday and now has stitches all over her mouth, at least enjoy some hot cider instead. Because cider is good.)

Talk to you tomorrow, and don’t forget to enter the giveaway! It ends New Year’s Eve. Love you!

    • There’s a store in Michigan that has signed copies of practically any book you could ever want that I just discovered a couple months back, and I’ve been going nuts getting autographed books from it since then. If you ever have a chance to visit, I’ll have to take you there. 🙂

  4. Hey Julia 🙂 Lydia here! (I pretty much stalk your blog from afar and occasionally comment haha) For future posts I would love to see some more of your fashion tips 🙂 I love what you’ve written in the past and thing it’d be cool to see more of that.

Also, since you asked for comments about future posts – I know you’re mainly a writing blog, but I would love to hear more about your college life and what it’s like being a collegiate person… 😛
