Liebster Award Tag

Yesterday Sarah Faulkner of Inklined nominated me for the Liebster Award! (She also hosted an especially fun Teen Book Chat. Sarah rocks.)

You can read her own blog post here. Thanks for the nomination!

The rules for the Liebster Award

  • Thank and link back to the person who nominated you. (I’d just like to mention that this shouldn’t even need to be a rule.)
  • List 11 facts about yourself.
  • Answer the 11 questions asked by the blogger who nominated you.
  • Nominate 9 bloggers who have fewer than 200 followers.
  • Ask them 11 questions.
  • Let them know about the nomination.

11 Facts About Me

  1. I have a thing for small, cozy spaces. My grandparents used to have a motor home with this little table against one wall with those big motor home chairs on either side and I slept under the table for YEARS growing up whenever we went camping because it was so small and cozy. It was like my own little cave.
  2. Looking straight up makes me full-on vertigo dizzy.
  3. I’m slowly realizing how much of a Type A personality I have. (Either that or it’s getting worse as I get older.) (Or both. Oh no.)
  4. If I don’t have to go anywhere, I am very likely to stay in my pajamas all day.
  5. I’m pretty sure I got a stress fracture in my left ring finger when I was in elementary school, but the doctor messed up the x-ray and refused to admit it to us (even though we heard him panicking about it with the nurse in the hall), so he said I was fine and we never found out for sure. (Let my possibly broken left ring finger be on that doctor’s conscience for always. A pox on his house.)
  6. I’m running out of facts to share and this is only #6. I find this is how most things go in life.
  7. I love cities.
  8. I just got distracted for a good twenty minutes reading @GoslingLitAgent‘s tweets. (“Hey Girl, keep at it. I know one day your breakout contemporary y.a. will be oddly compared to John Green.”)
  9. I use caps lock a lot in blog posts because I am too lazy to italicize.
  10. I’m really craving fro yo right now. Also Panera mac and cheese. (I don’t understand how this combination goes together, but roll with it.)
  11. When I write in third person, my accent in my head goes from ordinary Midwesterner to really posh/vaguely British.

My Answers to Sarah’s 11 Questions

1. Favorite drink? Favorite soft drink?
I love juice and smoothies and tea and can’t really choose among them for a fave drink. But I CAN tell you that I don’t have a favorite soft drink, because I honestly just really find pop nasty. (But if I have to choose one, root beer isn’t too bad.)

2. If you could resurrect one fictional character, (who died in the novel) who would it be?
SPOILER: *Queenie from Code Name Verity. Oh my gosh.*

3. Favorite ice cream flavor/concoction? (Cone, milkshake, ice cream cake, ect.)
A local ice cream shop makes pumpkin pie flurries every fall and they’re the food of the gods.
4. If you could instantly master one hobby besides blogging and writing, what would it be?
I don’t know. Acting? Singing? Guitar? Or actually, maybe running, because then I would suddenly be in shape without effort and how awesome would THAT be?
5. How do you like your eggs cooked?
Either over hard or scrambled. Or in an omelet. Also, when I’m home, I like to take this shredded Mexican cheese mix Kroger sells and scramble eggs with that and seasoning salt. So good.
6. What is one crazy thing you’d one day like to do?
Travel completely alone, without a map or plan, with nothing but what I can fit in a backpack. Stumble upon a place I don’t know at all and get to know it.
7. What fandoms are you a member of?
What fandoms am I NOT a member of?
8. What social media sites are you on?
9. What is your favorite thing about blogging?
The community. Everyone’s so friendly and funny and talented and supportive.
10. What do you find most challenging about it?
Finding new, interesting things to say so often.
11. What is one piece of advice you’d give to beginning bloggers?
Find ways to connect with other bloggers. Follow and comment on other blogs similar to yours, read widely, and make sure to really get to know people. Bloggers are a particular breed of excellent.
The 9 Bloggers I’m Nominating
  1. Mel/Katelyn of The Ultimately Useless Stories of an Average Teenager

  5. Skyler Finn of Life of a Random
  6. Shelby Moore of Smoore’s Adventures
