Les Mis and MERRY CHRISTMAS!

MERRY CHRISTMAS, EVERYBODY!!!! 😀 I hope you all have/are having/had a wonderful day with lots of food and music and loving people! I woke up this morning to snow on the ground and an only slightly sore throat, which I believe is a Christmas miracle since I’ve been super sick with–get this–the common cold for the past few days. And this is the first time we’ve had a measurable snowfall this season. So that’s like a double Christmas miracle. What up.

In other news, I went to see Les Miserables last night at the 10:00 PM it’s-not-a-midnight-showing-but-let’s-pretend-it-is showing, and it was absolutely amazing. AMAZING. I wasn’t a big fan of the cinematography, but everything else was just. Gah. So good. The acting absolutely blew me away, and like half the theatre was sobbing, and I’ve never seen Les Mis all the way through (I’ve watched the 25th Anniversary Concert on Youtube and listened to the music endlessly, but never actually had a chance to see a full out production of it), and oh my gosh. I just love Les Mis. It’s so good. You have to see it. It’s so good.

Oh, and just because I can, let me gloat for a second about that one time I got to see Aaron Tveit perform live in Catch Me If You Can on Broadway a couple of summers ago and totally got his autograph and a picture with him:

Yup. Aaron Freakin’ Tviet, y’all.

MERRY CHRISTMAS! (And if you don’t celebrate Christmas, I hope you have a really awesomely fantastic day anyway! 😀 )

This is an Apology…

Three things I’ve learned this weekend:

1.) I GOT ACCEPTED TO THE UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN!!!!!!!! AHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😀

2.) MY HIGH SCHOOL THEATRE COMPANY’S GOING ON TO THE STATE FINALS FOR THE THEATRE COMPETITION WE’RE IN!!!!!! DOUBLE AHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

3.) Three words, all smushed into one blob without spaces: ThePianoGuys. (Oh my gosh. Most amazing people ever. They’ve made me fall in love with classical music.)

And now for the apology:

I don’t have time to do Writer’s Digest Conference notes this weekend. I’M SO SORRY! I promise I’ll be back on them again this Wednesday, but things have been really hectic all weekend (as you can probably tell from my list), and it’s my dad’s birthday today (HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!), and just all kinds of stuff. I’m pushing it time-wise even posting this much, so yeah — I’m really sorry, but I promise we’ll be back to notes again as soon as possible, okay?

Oh, and one last thing:

My friend-slash-awesome-writer-person Tatiana recently posted a hilarious guide to living with writers on her blog. Check it out!

“Writers, I have found, are by nature, very finicky.  Little things drive them (me…) insane.  This, in turn, drives others insane.  Especially if you are the writer’s mother, father, sister, brother, best friend, or anyone else who must deal with them on a daily basis.  It sucks, it’s confusing, and when they go completely berserk on you I’m sure you consider having them committed.

Maybe this (only slightly) exaggerated list will give you a little insight into what you did wrong and just why  your lovely little writer went completely berserk on you.”

Talk to you all on Wednesday!
